Hope your day’s off to a great start today! Just a short
note today because I know you’ll want to hurry and get
started with these…
There are two ways for smart IMers to use giveaways -
one is to use them to build your lists, the other is to
cruise through them and find the worthwhile downloads -
products you can put online to make a few bucks, products
you can use to build your lists, products to use as a
bonus to your own products, and products you can learn
from yourself. Right now, both are open to you…
Did you get your gifts from the Thanksgiving event
we told you about on Tuesday? The one that’s open at The Thanksgiving Giveaway Site?
Hope so, because Santa’s Big Giveaway just went live
today and you’ll
want some of those too!
After you’ve cruised through them and downloaded what
you want, then head over to the Merry Christmas Giveaway &
upload your own gift - that one doesn’t launch til this
Sunday, so you have time to get your squeeze page & your
download in place before launch.
So there you go - build your inventory and build your
list. The two most powerful parts of the biz, and both
can be done for no outlay right now - or much quicker &
more effectively with a small outlay. Either way, just
be sure to get your gifts & set yourself up for a bigger
list right now, today - ok?
PS - Why did I suggest a small outlay? At each of these
three there’s an OTO to let you upgrade for a very low
rate. By upgrading, you don’t need to go to every site
and fill in forms to get your gifts - you just download
them directly from the giveaway site itself with no more
signups. AND it can bump your gift up in the rankings if
you’re a contributor. Save time, hassles, protect your
Inbox and get more people downloading your gifts - take
the OTO is you can swing it. If you can’t, then you REALLY
need some good products to put online fast, and that makes
it worthwhile going through the steps one by one. Either
way, you come out ahead - the only way to miss out is by
not getting involved with the giveaways in the first place!

Teri & I love Internet marketing - the business of Internet marketing, the daily activities of Internet marketing, interacting in the Internet marketing industry and the entire Internet marketing lifestyle - being together 24/7, making our own hours, traveling extensively throughout North America, speaking at some Internet marketing conventions and attending others, the comfort level Internet marketing provides financially - we love it all!
But after 12 years online full-time, you know what the best thing is about Internet marketing? The one single thing that makes it all worthwhile - the frosting on the Internet marketing cake?
It’s YOU!
You. The people who read our blogs. The people who visit our websites. The people who read our e-zines. The people who buy our products. The people in our affiliate program. The people we do joint ventures with. The people we meet at the seminars & conventions. The people on our teleseminars and webcasts. ALL of whom we consider our ‘online family’.
Even for a hard-core, in-your-face marketer like me, with a certified Type-A+ personality, it’s meeting You. Hearing how we’ve helped You. Hearing that You’re doing ok, or better than ok online, in small part because of what we do. What makes all of this worthwhile is that You’ve put Your trust in us, had faith in us, and we’ve delivered… Because to Teri & I, the goal of our entire Internet marketing empire is to help You, the people we care about, to enable Your own efforts to live Your dream lifestyle.
You see, helping You achieve that while having a fun and exciting life is OUR dream lifestyle. Yes, the big income and the shiny toys, the travel, prestige and fame are great - I wouldn’t even try to deny that. But it would be too hollow for us if that was the full extent of it - it’s knowing that what we do helps YOU, in Your daily life and the progress towards Your dreams and ambitions that really gives us our buzz…
And that’s why getting to the live public events is so important to us - because that’s where we get to meet You, to hear how You are doing, and to find out what we can do next to help You get to that next level, overcome Your current obstacles, break through the barricades to step that much closer to Your dreams!
This past weekend we had that opportunity again, attending the 2008 World Internet Summit in Toronto, Canada.
2008 World Internet Summit, Toronto, Canada
And much to our delight, once again we got to meet up with old friends and meet new members of our online family…
l-r, Carol Bremner, Teri Champigny, Eleanor McCallum, Doug Champigny, John Cussons
l-r, Dennis Palmer, Teri Champigny, Doug Champigny
l-r, Eugene Cheung, Birgit Ratz-Cheung, Doug Champigny, Teri Champigny, John Cussons, Jit Uppal
A huge Thank You to the people above, and to the other friends, new & old, that we saw & met there - you’ve recharged our batteries and given us the motivation to keep helping all we can. Enough to carry us through Christmas, New Years and right up to the JVAlert Live event in Orlando Florida on February 6, 7 & 8, 2009.
Tell me…
Will YOU Be There?
If there’s any way at all you can make it to JVAlert Live next February, please do - and be sure to look us up when you get there! Don’t be shy - Carol, Eleanor, Dennis & Jit had never met us before, though they were long-time readers of our e-zines. Now they’re new friends we hope will stay in touch - maybe even come down and spend a day in Niagara Falls or Niagara-on-the-Lake with us!
So please, bookmark this blog and watch for updates about the Onlando JVAlert - as soon as our friend Ken McArthur has selected the event hotel and gets the early-bird tickets online, we’ll post all the information right here for our online family. And I mean it - we really do look forward to meeting You at JVAlert Live in 2009!
If you’re not using the DoFollow Plug-In and CommentLuv Plug-In on your blogs, you’re missing both a major draw to get targeted traffic coming to your blogs to post comments, and a fantastic way to make your blogs more interactive and user-friendly for your readers.
By enabling both plug-ins, you’re rewarding those who leave approved* comments on your blog by giving them both a link back to their blog’s main URL and a link to their latest post’s permalink, both of which can help in their SEO & PR quests.
When I spoke onstage as the reigning Web 2.0 Targeted Traffic Expert at Carl Galletti’s Internet Marketing SuperConference at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas in June 2008, I had yet to be introduced to CommentLuv. But it would have been a featured part of that presentation if I’d have already known about Andy Bailey & his marvellous bit of coding!
And to make it even better, as an incentive to get you using and supporting the blogs that use CommentLuv, they have announced a contest for the next couple of weeks. Want to win some cool prizes?
Here are the rules:
1. You must be registered at CommentLuv.com and have your site URL registered and verified.
2. You must complete your profile at CommentLuv.com.
3. You cannot spam - but as a reader of Internet Marketing with Doug Champigny, you never would anyway, right?
4. You do not need to have CommentLuv installed - but Do It!
How to win an instant prize:
- Start by leaving a relevant comment here - even if you don’t win, you’ll get both the links back to your blog and add points to your personal ‘Karma bank’.
- If you’ve won, your last blog post will come back with a prize notification attached.
- Click on it to get to the winners page. If you haven’t won yet, go back to their site and see the list of participating sites, and try again on another one.
*Approved Comments: When you add the DoFollow tag to your blogs, unscrupulous types will try and autopost to your blog comments. I use the HashCash Plug-In to stop the auto-posters, and so far it works beautifully. Also, turn on the ‘All Comments Should Be Held For Moderation’ in your Admin Panel - that way you can stop silly comments like ‘Nice Post’, ‘Great Site’ or those with less-than-polite terms/comments/suggestions, and save your Luv for people who take the time to make real, intelligent & related comments about the issues in your blog posts.
Disclaimer: This contest is being run solely by CommentLuv. Doug Champigny & this site have no say in, influence nor control over any aspect of the event, including but not limited to their site, the contest, the selection of winners or the delivery of prizes. Please refer all enquiries to the CommentLuv Team via their website.
The next 10 days are going to be crazy in our field,
with a ton of huge launches that will overflow your
inbox day after day. So many launches, in fact, that
only true infomaniacs will try and get them all…
Be really careful to keep your wits about you during
all of this - Christmas is only 6 weeks or so away, and
the last thing you need is massive bills from you cards
coming in 2 weeks before then, right?
If you’re not keeping busy moving forward in your
own online biz during it all, it’s liable to turn you
from a happy online biz owner into an Entreprenuerotic! So let’s map out a plan to protect you now, shall we?
There is one launch through it all that you don’t
want to miss, if only because of the incredible number
of big names involved in it. Better still, it doesn’t
launch for another week yet, but you can get a sneak
preview and download a great report today with no
plastic, pocketbook or purse involved!
Don’t worry, neither has launched yet - one goes in
6 days, the other starts in 9 days. Get your account
at each (again, all free), then use this week to get
your gift(s) ready and invite other contributors. Then
once they launch next week, you can stay busy inviting
people to download your gifts and build your lists so
you make more money in December and throught 2009!
And as you watch the Infomaniacs & Entreprenuerotics
melting down over the next 2 or 3 weeks, be kind - they
might not have seen this post in advance…
PS - Since everything above can build your biz for
free, if you really MUST use some money this week
then remember the Christmas PLR is only there til
Sunday, so download yours before you miss out, ok?

Until YouTube came along, there was no social networking site that promoted user content in the form of video. This niche has catapulted YouTube to the forefront as a leading social networking site. Because of its ease of use and popularity, YouTube has become a launch pad for many business viral marketing campaigns as well.
Do you have a digital camcorder or webcam? If so, you can make a video that can be shared online. People like to see what others are doing. There is no better way to allow others to do just that, than through video media. YouTube is the largest generator of user video content on the web.
Yes, YouTube is another hot spot for kids on the Internet. They can create their own videos to upload or watch videos generated by their friends. Comments can be left on videos either praising or denouncing what they have seen. This feedback can be extremely useful for future video productions and marketing campaigns.
The best thing of all is that it is free to become a YouTube member. Once a member, it only takes a good video camera to create quality film capture for the public. The best videos are those from a wide angle for lots of movement like sports videos or still shots where someone performs a demonstration from a single spot. The more interesting you can make the video, the more hits it will get on the Internet.
Businesses have found a way to use YouTube to increase their bottom line as well. Videos are a great to head up a viral marketing campaign. What is viral marketing you might be asking? We do it all the time and many don’t even realize it.
When someone shares a good review of a product with us and we go out and buy it, that’s viral marketing. Essentially, it is word of mouth advertising. It also works on the negative. Poor reviews lead to lower sales of certain products. On the Internet, negative statements spread like wildfire.
With YouTube, the negative to a viral marketing video campaign is not being seen by anyone. Creating interesting footage of your business products and links pointing back to your website can drive traffic your way. Many YouTube business users have special landing pages on their websites just for people who discover them on YouTube.
Another way that many people create a viral marketing campaign via YouTube is to create their video, upload it to YouTube and at the end of the production, send visitors to their website to pick up a free report, product sample, or the ability to sign up for more information about their business.
Think about some of the ads that you see on television. How many times have you gotten to the end of the commercial and wondered what it was even about? A viral marketing video will talk about your business but present the material in an eye-catching way. Remember the Crazy Glue guy hanging from a beam by his hard hat? You might want to hang from the side of your garage instead of fifty stories in the air but you get the idea.
YouTube provides opportunities for businesses to market their business in a viral fashion. With high quality video and a bit of social networking around the site, traffic and sales will benefit. If you haven’t begun advertising your business via video, YouTube is the perfect place to start. It doesn’t cost a dime to put your business in front of millions, but can produce a return that maybe even you could never have imagined.
One of the newest social networking sites is Twitter. It sounds like a movement birds make. In fact it is a quick way to send messages to your favorite people via the Internet. Due to its popularity with people all over the world, many entrepreneurs wonder if Twitter can actually help them grow their business.
In order to answer that question we first need to find out what exactly Twitter is? It is a social networking site which allows people to keep in touch with friends, family, and others. Through a series of short posts, important information is sent to a person’s followers. Those short posts are called “tweets.”
Twitter has been used by people to send messages to their friends. The posts can be 140 characters long at most, which allows for quick, precise exchanges of information. If you wanted to let your family know that the reunion this year is in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and they needed to volunteer to do something, it would be easy to send them all a tweet at one time. When someone logs into their Twitter account or views your Twitter profile page, they would then see the message. They can then respond to you by posting a tweet of their own.
Twitter is real time communication for people who need to contact others right away. Some wondered if Twitter was just a fancy way of texting someone on the computer. Send a tweet to your husband to say dinner is moved to 7:30. Tell a girlfriend you’ve just bought that blouse you saw last week. If you only want to allow certain people to see the messages you are sending, you can easily mark your profile and updates as private.
Although many use Twitter as a more personal way to communicate, even more treat it as a virtual water cooler to connect with all types of people the world over. It seems as if tweeting would get boring after a while. Not so. With talkative friends you could be tweeted to death in a matter of days. Many actually find themselves losing precious time in their day chit-chatting with those with similar interests.
For the skeptical folks who want to know if tweeting will eventually tank, businesses have found a use for the social network that can increase their utilization and visibility on the Internet. First, let’s say that you have an office of fifty employees. Sending a memo every time there is a big announcement creates a lot of paper to file or leave for the trash man.
Businesses can now use protected Twitter messages to keep employees updated on departmental changes as well as company wide agendas. Employees can subscribe to the company feed set up on Twitter. Whenever there is something important posted, they will be notified.
The same goes for small one-owner and Internet businesses and their customers. Customers can subscribe to the company feed to learn about new products and other useful information. New businesses can create interesting tweets that produce interest and can be re-posted by others to help get the business or owner noticed.
Twitter fills a niche in the social networking sector and is here to stay. Businesses have found a way to make Twitter work to their advantage, whether they are work at home moms longing for adult interaction or reaching out to a broader audience to increase profit.
Along with social networking sites, there are now a number of social bookmarking sites on the Internet. While social networking sites build upon relationships between members social bookmarking sites create connections through the types of content generated by members. It is these connections that make social bookmarking such an effective business tool for Internet entrepreneurs especially.
Maybe you have read a blog post or article on someone’s website. At the end of the article or blog post, you’ll see a host of different little pictures or characters. Run your cursor over them and names like Technorati, Digg, Furl, and Delicious pop up. What are these characters and what do the names mean?
These are links to social bookmarking sites. Social bookmarking is much like what you would do with an actual bookmark. Physical bookmarks are used to mark a page or a passage that you want to find again at some point. This goes for social bookmarking icons as well. If someone wants to find that particular article again or let others know about it, they can bookmark the address on a site and mark it with keywords for future reference.
Not all social bookmarking sites are the same. The principle is the same across the board, but some social bookmarking sites specialize in different media. Squidoo specializes in creating lenses that showcase an area of expertise of the lens owner. Flickr concentrates on photos. Some bookmarking sites deal with movie or music reviews in contrast.
Before choosing a bookmarking site, find one that caters to the content or type of business that you conduct. That will draw the most traffic to your business. If there is more than one, then join all that apply. One thing to remember is to create content that people will be interested in and use to track back to your business website. Remember that your site readers will mark your pages and posts on these sites because they find them informative and useful and think others will too.
Through quality content, a business owner can easily create a nice following of readers and possibly higher search engine rankings with the use of social bookmarking sites. For the purpose of content, look around the more popular bookmarking sites and see what others are viewing and find interesting and useful. That is the type of content you want to focus on with your websites. Investigating the more popular social bookmarking sites will make it easy to track down competitors and find out what your target market deems as useful information. Using these bookmarking sites will increase the visibility of your content and make it easier to market to your specific target customer or reader.
Social bookmarking is a simple, but effective way to bring traffic to a business website. Add bookmarking icons to your blog or website to help increase the chances of someone adding it to their favorite list of content.
